The service supports adults who want help to:
- Stop smoking
- Manage thier weight
- Become more physically active
You can use this website to find information and practical tips to help you get started. If you would like more personalised support, you can refer yourself to your local Feel Good Suffolk team. An advisor will contact you to talk through your situation and help you choose the most suitable option.
Depending on your needs and eligibility criteria, support may include:

Stop smoking
- One-to-one support from a trained advisor for up to 12 weeks
- Nicotine replacement therapy (such as patches or gum)
- Vape starter kits
- Access to group support and Allen Carr stop smoking sessions
- Stop smoking medication (where appropriate)
- Use of the Smokefree app

Weight management
- A 12-week healthy weight programme, delivered in person or online
- Support focused on food, physical activity, sleep and stress
- A self-guided online option for those who prefer to work at their own pace

Physical activity
- A 12-week exercise referral programme at a local leisure centre, designed to support people with health conditions
- Funded activity sessions at participating leisure centres

How do I refer myself to Feel Good Suffolk?
You can refer yourself using our online referral form here: Make a self-referal
If you would prefer help to complete the form, call 0345 603 4060. A member of your local council’s customer services team can complete it with you over the phone.
What happens after I make a self-referral?
Your referral will be sent to your local Feel Good Suffolk team. They will review the information you’ve given and contact you to talk about the type of support that may suit you best.
We may contact you by phone, text or email. Please check your junk or spam folder in case our email goes there.
How long will it take before I hear from someone?
We aim to contact you within one week of receiving your referral. During busy periods it may take a little longer, but we will get in touch as soon as possible.
I referred myself over a weeks ago but haven't heard anything. What should I do?
Before getting in touch, please check the following:
- Look in your junk or spam email folder.
- Our messages may show as coming from ‘access-elemental’. This is our secure system and the message is from us.
- You may have received a message asking for more information before we can move your referral forward.

Are there any services that Feel Good Suffolk does not provide?
Yes. We cannot provide:
- Support to stop vaping (but information is available on our website here: Stop vaping – Feel Good Suffolk).
- Specialist weight management services, including:
- Prescription of weight loss medication (including injections)
- Support related to bariatric surgery
- Counselling and therapy
- Clinical treatments or medical advice
I need specialist weight management support. Can Feel Good Suffolk help?
Feel Good Suffolk provides general advice on healthy eating and lifestyle changes. This is suitable for most people looking to lose weight.
If you feel that you need more specialist support, you should speak to your GP. There is a local Weight Management and Complex Obesity service (WMCOS) which may be more suitable for your needs. This service can offer specialist dietary advice, medications and bariatric surgery, subject to eligibility and clinical prioritisation.

Can I refer someone else?
You can refer someone else only if you have their consent. Please make this clear on the referral form.
A GP or other healthcare professional can also make a referral on someone’s behalf.
I would like to join a Wellbeing Walk. Are these still available?
Yes! There are over 200 volunteer-led walks across Suffolk. You can find details of upcoming walks on the Ramblers website.
